Dave and Scott Lowry, a father and son duo from Cape Town, South Africa, founded Lowry Bladeworks in 2012. Their passion for making hand-crafted chefs’ knives has grown into a successful business.

It all began when Scott suggested, “let’s make a knife Dad”. What was initially a weekend project evolved into a range of chef’s knives that we craft together with the finest materials. This was a new direction for me, as I had mainly done woodworking projects before, but working with steel has been a rewarding challenge.

My love for the outdoors, from camping, fishing, and hunting, inspired me to prepare and cook meals with whatever utensils I had on hand. Over time, I realised the importance of having good quality chef’s knives that could serve both outdoor adventurers, foodies, and chefs. That’s how I developed the LBW knife range, which offers a chef’s knife for every food preparation task.
